Special Education High School for Religious Students struggling with Mental Health Issues
Alongside the Cherna Center, Menifa operates a special high school for religious girls who are struggling with significant mental health issues. The school, which is recognized by the Education Ministry, accepts religious students from the Jerusalem area. They learn at a high level leading to matriculation examinations and vocational subjects, together with social and enrichment activities.
The spirit and vision of Menifa
The school implements the spirit and vision of Menifa, building a rehabilitative framework with her family and community to help each student to return to a normal life. Resources are invested in education and empowerment, parental training, and integration into normative community activities. The religious support framework is seen as just as important as the therapeutic framework, because strengthening her sense of belonging to her community and her cultural identity is part of the ideal rehabilitation process.
Menifa’s extensive experience has shown that the sooner the rehabilitation process begins, the faster each student can recover her strength and develop healthy life habits, returning to full functioning in every area of her life.
Number of participants: 20-30 adolescent girls in grades 9-12.
Professional Staff: The school staff support the students in their studies, with a support program of individual treatments, and working closely with the parents to create a holistic framework.
