On May 27, 2026, an appreciation event was held at the President’s Residence, hosted by the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog, for the volunteers of the “In My Brothers’ Company” Mentoring Program for Recruits & IDF Soldiers. The program, operated by Menifa Association, supports soldiers and candidates for military service before and during their service.

The event highlighted the work of the mentors, who dedicate themselves throughout the year to supporting young men and women in need of personal guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear. During the meeting, President Herzog listened to the volunteers’ stories, showed interest in their journeys and sense of mission, and expressed his appreciation for their important work.

The “In My Brothers’ Company” Mentoring Program for Recruits & IDF Soldiers is based on the values of mutual responsibility and a deep belief in every young person’s ability to grow, persevere, and succeed. At the heart of the program are hundreds of volunteers from across Israel who serve as meaningful adult figures for soldiers and candidates for military service — offering encouragement, guidance, support, and stability during challenging moments.

The program supports young people from diverse and challenging backgrounds, including lone soldiers, new immigrants, young people who are the first in their families to serve in the IDF, young people from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds, soldiers from families in distress, and soldiers facing crises before or during incarceration. The goal of the mentorship is to help them regain stability, persevere in their service, complete it successfully, and emerge with a sense of capability, belonging, and purpose.

At a time when many soldiers face personal, emotional, family, and financial challenges, the presence of the mentors is especially significant. They provide personal connection, trust, and ongoing support, often serving as the stable foundation young people need in order to cope with the challenges of military service.

The appreciation event at the President’s Residence reflected the public importance of the program’s work and the deep gratitude owed to volunteers who choose to dedicate their time, experience, and hearts for the benefit of others. Thanks to their efforts, thousands of young people have received meaningful guidance, a sense of belonging, and personal support that has helped them build a more independent and promising future.

Menifa Association extends its gratitude to the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog, for his gracious hospitality, attentive listening, and recognition of the important work of the mentors. Special thanks were also extended to Mrs. Nurit Fox, Chairwoman of Menifa Association, for her vision, leadership, and ongoing commitment to this life-changing work.
